Feb. 18th-March 5th: Lots of Feelings!

Dear Parents,

In EDC we are learning about all different kinds of feelings! We are learning about what these feelings are called, how they feel in our bodies, and what they look like on our faces. We are reading a book and matching pictures of people with specific feelings to help us develop a stronger understanding of other people. We are reading lots of stories about feelings, making feelings puppets, and doing a scavenger hunt with different kinds of movement in gym. Stay tuned for pictures of our learning!

Hi Parents,  Your child received a paper copy of the following notice today:  Dear EDC Parents, My name is Emily Cadman and I am a new EDC (Early Development Centre) teacher at Keeler School. I have already enjoyed the first few days of getting to know your child and am looking forward to continuing to work with them this year. Cold Weather Guidelines

Dear Parents, It is very important that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather, including hats, gloves, mittens, etc. We do not have enough clothing to lend out to kids who need these items and we also do not have the staff to be able to supervise a lot of kids inside on colder days over lunch and recess times. We will, however, have indoor recess and lunches when temperatures reach -20 Celsius or colder including wind-chill factor. Please see our guidelines below: CBE   Cold Weather Guidelines for On-Site Activities 
 When temperatures reach -20 Celsius or colder including the wind-chill factor, it is recommended that students be kept inside for recess or lunch breaks. The minus 20 Celsius guideline is comparable to other school jurisdictions in Alberta and across Canada.   note | this temperature is provided as a guideline and may be adjusted for the school/activity.
